India approves 10,000mt of sugar exports to EU under quota system

New Delhi: India has approved 10,000 metric tonnes of sugar exports to the European Union at concessional duty rates from October 2019 to September 2020 period, according to a notification.

The Director-General of Foreign Trade in a notification on Thursday said that the quantity of sugar, raw or white, to be shipped to the EU under the CXL quota in the next sugar marketing year has been fixed at 10,000 metric tonnes.

Under the CXL quota, exporters ship sugar at zero or low customs duties.

Exporters would have to submit the certificate of origin for availing sugar quota exports.

DGFT Mumbai would issue these certificates of origin.
