Deadline for installing radiation monitors, container scanner at 14 ports extended

New Delhi: The deadline for the installation of radiation monitors and container scanner at 14 seas ports including Kandla, JNPT and Tuticorin has been extended until December 31.

While extending the deadline, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said the ports that will fail to meet the timeline will be derecognised for the purpose of import of unshredded metallic scrap from January 1 next year.

The 14 ports are: Chennai, Cochin, Ennore, JNPT, Kandla, Mormugao, Mumbai, New Mangalore, Paradip, Tuticorin, Vishakhapatnam, Pipava, Mundra and Kolkata.
