New Delhi: The Commerce Ministry on Monday announced imposing a minimum import price of Rs 200 per kg on all kinds of peas to restrict their imports and boost domestic prices.
According to a notification by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), import of peas including yellow peas, green peas, dun peas and kaspa peas is restricted and import subject to MIP of Rs 200 CIF per kilogram.
The import of peas would be allowed only through Kolkata seaport, it said.
India has previously imposed restrictions on the import of peas to support local prices.
