New Delhi: Castor oil exports jumped by nearly 45 per cent in value terms to Rs 499.20 crore in July 2019 compared to Rs 344.81 crore in the year-ago month.
In volume terms, castor oil shipments rose to 44,100 MT
in July from 40,423 mt in July 2018, according to Solvent Extractors Association.
The export numbers for July, however, were down compared to the previous month. In June castor oil exports were 46,295 MT worth Rs 541.54 crore.
In the April-July period of 2019, castor oil exports were 190,578 MT worth Rs 2,157.84 crore.
China, the US, the UK, the Netherlands and France are major importers of Indian castor oil.
