New Delhi: Amazon is planning to enter the physical retail market as part of its efforts to ward off competition from Reliance and Flipkart which is also looking to start offline operations, according to a media report.
The retail giant will offer products from its online marketplace at physical stores, the report said quoting industry officials.
The products would include its best selling private brands and AmazonBasics.
Amazon is in discussion with three retail chains of Shoppers Stop, More and Future Retail for the foray into offline operations.
The US retail firm has bought stakes in these three retail chains in recent times.
These retail chains also sell their brands on Amazon marketplace as well as facilitate payments through Amazon’s payment service at their offline stores, the report said.
